iMumble - (EYE-muhm-bul) n: The drunken, trailing sentence issued by a person who has stopped paying attention to you and has become engrossed in some small electronic device.

This typically happens in a lunch setting where an individual who was involved in a conversation has suddenly been buzzed, beeped, shocked, or prodded by an iPhone, Blackberry, videoWatch, or subspace communicator, and attempts to continue conversing while reading.

I needed a file for testing that was exactly 1k; no more, no less.  Linux is a great platform for doing these kinds of things, so I started off

For the first file I needed, the contents didn't matter, so I turned to /dev/random and dd, like this:

dd if=/dev/random bs=1 count=1024 > file

.. thanks to Challenge/Response.  This cool little Adium plugin forces users I don't know to answer a question before I can see anything they're saying.

Poor Becky will have to get someone else to help her with her webcam..

This is me and the Papervision character.  Isn't he cute?  You want to play with him, too?

The link leads to a page with a Flash app; allow the app to use your webcam.  (If you see a big black square, try righ clicking, choosing options, and clicking the little round webcam icon toward the right, then pick your webcam.  Mac users, pick USB Video Class Video).  Then print out the PDF and show it to the camera.

It's a little difficult to master; don't cut the black square out without leaving a good half inch or so of white speace border, and try it in a well lit environment.  If you either don't have a webcam or a printer, check this out:

I can't wait to see what uses they make of this technology.

Here's my pet theory.BSG

The line "This has happened before, and will happen again" is the most critical line.

The Scrolls of Pythia have been violated; the "dying leader" has seen the 13th Colony.  How can she have?

Yeah, I know; the market was tanking anyway, surely this isn't a sign that the free market knows Obama will eat them alive, and that electing this man president has helped put yet another grandmother back into the job market.  I'll cling to my religion, and you cling to yours.

Try Matthew West - The End.

changeObama's "Blueprint for Change".  If you read my previous post, you'll know I mentioned something about keeping campaign promises, and you can't get a better list than from the One's web site.  I just thought I'd post it here as well, since things sometimes get misplaced.. or altered...
